In this gallery are many pieces of my own design, some specific customer requests, and some by architects. All free-standing furniture I make from primarily or entirely solid wood, depending on the design, size, and budget. Styling is largely contemporary, and I relish the opportunity to utilize gorgeous live-edge slabs of local wood. Most joinery is traditional in origin because it has stood the test of time in this material which is older than humanity. Where solid woods of substantial width are used, maintaining structural integrity requires that attention is given, in both design and construction, to ensure the necessary freedom of movement in response to season humidity changes. This is a principal long recognized by wood artisans. It is violated at risk to the durability and longevity of the project.
